Barclay Simpson Security has been retained for the search of a Data Protection Officer to join the firm on an initial 18-month engagement.

The organisation is undergoing an exciting Digital Transformation journey. The DPO will work with senior management to identify Privacy risks and imbed the required processes and controls while implementing a data protection roadmap to increase organisational maturity.
The organisation is open to candidates from all DP backgrounds. Still, those who have undergone a business transformation (to digitise and modernise a business from a data protection perspective) would be most interesting to the client.

As the Data Protection Officer, you will Lead the Privacy Agenda within the organisation, developing and monitoring an effective Privacy Framework while fulfilling the DPO's tasks as defined by Article 39 of the GDPR.

Key Responsibilities:
    Overall responsibility for the maintenance and monitoring of the Privacy framework Perform DPIAs, PIAs and LI assessments and build/maintain RoPA Keeping up to date with changes in data protection regulation and emerging Privacy threats to the organsation Advising on DPIAs and Controller/Processor Records Advising on Data Subject Requests & Rights Support Advising on FOI requests Act as the key point of contact with the Regulator Advise on any complaints or queries raised by Data Subjects Develop the current data governance (strategy, framework, privacy notices & policies, processes, systems, and contracts), including all business functions

The Successful Applicant:
    Expertise in Data Protection and Data Privacy, previously have been in a role as a Data Protection Officer Extensive experience of working with large volumes of personal data/data subjects Exceptional stakeholder relationship management, including Good influencing, communication and interpersonal abilities] Ability to articulate technical language to the business. Recognised Data Protection qualification such as CIPP/E, EU-GDPR

This is an 18 month fixed term contract, with an annual base salary from £100,000 - £120,000
