Commercial Manager - CONTRACT
Home based

Summary of Role:
A Commercial Manager to support the contract closure activity on a UK MoD service and support contract.
Reporting to the ISSS Commercial Manager, to lead on multiple aspects of the closure/disposal activity, providing strategy recommendations and taking a lead role in Customer negotiations.
A hands on role requiring the ability to work at pace in a changing environment.
The work will be a combination of some routine commercial admin tasks together with complex closure activity and claims management.
The successful applicant needs to be able to manage the total workload cycle and juggle competing priorities to completion.

Main Duties:
Lead commercial elements of contract closure activity
Prepare commercial/contract strategies
Develop innovative commercial solutions in support of proposals
Lead/support closure negotiations and through senior functional management
Identify and manage risks and opportunities, working collaboratively with customers and other project team members
Administration of complex due diligence activity
Support programme financial performance
Support Contract compliance and performance
Maintenance of records
Functional representative at customer, supplier and internal reviews including Gates, Review Boards and Quarterly Financial Reviews
Produce briefing materials for senior management reviews
Supports relationship management initiatives
Provide support and guidance within the team

Candidate Requirements:
Essential:
Experience of negotiating Government Contracts and Commercial Agreements in the Defence and Aerospace Industry
Experience of contract closure
Experience of dispute resolution
Related degree or equivalent experience
Ability to work both in a team
Excellent verbal and written communications
Experience of negotiating and changing multiple types of non-standard agreement including the flow down of requirements and the use of Statements of Work
Strong record of problem solving
Experience of Customer relationship management
Flexible and positive attitude

Desirable:
Experience of working with the UK MoD
Experience of collaborative working in BS11000 environment
Experience of logistics issues
Experience of supplier evaluation and selection
Experience of programme financial management
Good working knowledge of import/export legislation
Strong commercial programme management skills (Risk Management/Programme Gating/ Metrics)
