Logistics Operator

In the Atlantic Inertial Systems business we design and manufacture products for control, navigation and guidance for surface and air applications in the global aerospace, defence and commercial markets. Our world leading products include the innovative MEMS based inertial sensors and IMUs and the digital terrain reference navigation system, TERPROM®. Our growth plan includes development and extension of our current technologies into civil aircraft applications.

A vacancy has arisen for a Logistics Operator, reporting to the Logistics Manager. In this role, primary responsibilities will include:
  • Selection of material for kitting and shipping activities in line with the weekly planning cycle.
  • Facilitate ad-hoc material requests for issue to manufacturing.
  • Move and re locate stock as required in Stores.
  • Assist in Stock Cycle counting.
  • Develop and maintain standard work in accordance with ACE/AIM Criteria.
Secondary responsibilities:
  • Collating inputs for metrics/reports.
  • Assist the team make efficiencies and develop change as required.
  • Administration of logistics documentation.
  • Preparing documents and information using Microsoft Office packages.
The successful candidate will have experience of working in a logistics environment, with the ability to prioritise tasks. The candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, good organisational skills and experience of using IT, including; Microsoft office databases and ERP (preferably SAP). The candidate will have a good academic background, with a desired knowledge of end to end logistics in manufacturing. The candidate will also be a good communicator and be a highly motivated and diligent member of a diverse team, with the ability to think logically to solve problems.
