Summary of Role
The Quality Assurance Engineer will support the Procurement, Production Assembly and Test, and delivery of Quality compliant products and services. Additionally, this role will facilitate and support the identification, implementation and flow-down of required Customer, Company and Regulatory requirements and provide assurance through audit and continuous improvement.
Main Duties
Primary authority on quality related matters on assigned programmes and areas of responsibility
Interfacing and communicating with program and functional areas to support the goals of the business
Conduct Quality audits (product, process, supplier)
Support external agency, accreditation body and customer audits
Defect investigation to identify and address root cause
Audit and timely and effective closure of actions received from audit on NC's, internal 8D's, customer complaints and 8D's
Provide data to support bids
Ensure customer contractual and quality requirements are fully understood, flowed to the required level including suppliers/sub-suppliers, met and verified
Perform First Article Review (AR's) Internal and supplier
Participate in design and IPDS gate reviews
Maintain quality records including SCAR, 8D, customer returns, complaints, audits and inspections
Ensure integrity of products, materials and processes to satisfy business, customer and regulatory requirements
Effective and timely monitoring, and status reporting or assigned programmes and areas of responsibility
Independent test witnessing, evaluation and FARs on site or at suppliers
Application of statistical techniques to support effective process management
Host external agency, accreditation body and customer audits
Leadership, facilitation and management of Root Cause and Corrective action
Continued awareness of external standards and regulatory requirements
Candidate Requirements
Essential
Basic understanding of configuration and data processes and procedures
Knowledge of CCA and unit build manufacturing techniques
Good level of customer knowledge (products and requirements)
Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical data
Conversant with the requirements of AS9100D
Working knowledge of workmanship standards (IPC, J-STD)
Current holder of or eligibility to obtain MoD Secret (SC) level security clearance
Desirable
Working knowledge of Space grade electronics requirements
Good level of commercial awareness
Internal audit trained or certified to AS9100D
HNC/HND Engineering discipline or equivalent certification
