Scheduler

Location: Portsmouth


The Scheduler is responsible for the creation, analysis and maintenance of the program Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and supporting project teams with overall program planning, tracking, status, maintenance, cost and schedule integration, and reporting.

Main Duties:
  • Perform analysis and prepare reports in order to ensure that programs meet or exceed schedule commitments.
  • Participate in the preparation of schedules for all contract work and assist in critical path and variance analysis.
  • Stay aware of and incorporate contractual changes into the IMS in order to maintain realistic contract schedule baselines.
  • Generate cost and schedule reports, as required.
  • Report program performance through the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
  • Labor and schedule analysis to ensure effective use of resources and timing of all tasks in the control account.
  • Provide schedule structures, definitions and documentation.
  • Support baseline integration functions including Gate 5.
  • Status earned value of the project plans.
  • Perform critical path analysis.
  • Provide analysis, reports and recommendations regarding corrective action measures.
  • Balance technical, quality, cost and schedule constraints to achieve customer satisfaction.
Candidate Requirements:

Essential:
Demonstrated experience creating and updating a program-wide IMS with intermediate levels of proficiency in the following:
  • Prince2 Certification, APM Q or APM Fundamentals
  • Create and maintain project plans at start-up, throughout program length, and during the roll-off period
  • Project baseline management including initial baseline, estimate to completion (ETC), and estimate at completion (EAC)
  • Validate that the program team is managing the plan accurately and progress is appropriately recorded based on milestones
  • Works with Control Account Managers (CAMs) and the finance team to manage and plan program baseline change requests (BCRs)
  • Strong understanding of the Earned Value Management System
  • Handling multiple, complex projects and schedules in a fast paced environment and deal quickly and efficiently with changing priorities; strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal business communication skills
  • Able to follow defined processes, work independently or as a team with minimal oversight
  • A person in this role must be very proficient and have strong skills with Microsoft Project which is the primary software product used to develop the IMS
  • Strong computer skills, along with a proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Detail oriented and problem solving
Desirable:
  • Financial background is a plus
  • Familiarity with Training and Development industry and processes is a plus
Required Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
  • Eight years Business Planner experience may be considered in lieu of university degree
