HAYS Technology are working with a wonderful organisation in Newcastle upon Tyne, who are recruiting for a Network Engineer. General duties and responsibilities:

Support the IT Services network Team by coordinating and contributing to the provision of a professional support service through the delivery of customer focused outputs.

Demonstrate creativity and passion in developing network and security services of an exceptional quality that derive the maximum benefit for users and the organisation.

Organise, plan and prioritise own work activities, and the work of others where appropriate, to contribute to the achievement of IT Services objectives and professional standards.

Respond positively to feedback, proactively reviewing processes, procedures and practices to ensure that the needs and expectations of relevant stakeholders are met.

To be successful in this role you will have significant experience in:

- Network Design of both wired and wireless networks (including WiFi surveying)
- Configuration and deployment of both Cisco and Aruba network equipment (switches, wireless controllers, Clearpass)
- Configuration and deployment of Fortinet products (FortiSIEM, Fortigate, Fortianalyser), Palo Alto firewalls and Citrix ADCs
- Understanding of IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP (including the management and configuration of Infoblox appliances)
- Network security investigation and forensics
- Networking routing & switching including VXLAN, BGP, OSPF, VRFs, VLANs, ACLs
- Leading projects from technical perspective
- Understanding of ITIL, service and change management functions and working within these to achieve project success
