Cyber Defence Manager (SOC) – Cardiff / Reading - £100k

A Cyber Defence / SOC Manager, is required to lead, mature and develop a Security Operations function within a Cyber Security Services company.  This is an opportunity to join an organisation who are about to embark on global growth.  

Over the course of the next few months you will build, lead and manage a team of Security Operation Analysts.  The ideal candidate will have worked in a SOC as an Analyst earlier in their career, ideally then progressed to a Senior, Lead, Deputy or Manager within the SOC. MSSP / MDR experience is an advantage.  This is an opportunity to heavily influence how the SOC is built and run with a strong level of security, innovation is key, therefore budget for high level security will NOT be compromised.

Cyber Defence Manager responsibilities include

• Building out the foundations of the SOC / MSSP
• Drive the Cyber strategy / road map
• Develop & Improve the processes and policies to ensure the SOC runs effectively
• Build and grow a team of SOC Analysts
• Work closely with the C suite to define what should be monitored, how to respond and how you use AI and Cloud to continuously improve the MSSP SOC service
• Support and work closely with the client business development function

Cyber Defence Manager requirements are

• Experience in building a Security Operations (SOC) / Managed Detection Service MDR /  MSP / MSSP is preferred.  At a minimum helped with this process as a Senior SOC Analyst, SOC Lead or Deputy SOC
• Experience in managing and leading teams / people
• Designing and delivering security team KPI’s and Metrics
• experience with Microsoft Security technologies
• ITILv4 or Agile Service Management
• Prior work experience within service provider environments
• SANS/GIAC, Offensive Security, and/or CREST courses & certifications (beneficial)
