About The Team

We are looking for a Cloud Solution Architect for the design and delivery of our next generation financial crime and compliance products.

About The Role

Demonstrating your solid expertise in the design and delivery of innovative Cloud native solutions, you will join our AWS Full Stack Development team in a hands-on role responsible for the solution architecture and the team's development and quality assurance practices.

You will:

• Work with product owners, other architects and the development teams to define, refine and prioritize the product roadmap.
• Take end responsibility of all aspects of the solutions:
  • Meet business requirements using an optimal technical design
  • Effective CI/CD processes
  • Security
  • Scalability and Performance
  • Resilience
  • Proper support for Managed services teams hosting the solutions
  • Propose appropriate architectures (hardware sizing, deployment topologies)
  • Perform risk analysis and technical assessments on incoming requirements and adequately respond.
  • Evaluate new technologies, define and implement proof of concepts and validate all aspects, document architectural decisions.
  • Provide input to, review and approve technical designs, Interface definitions and other documentation delivered by the development team.
  • Support the safeguarding of technology IP
  • Together with other architects, keep a log of architectural decisions
  • Review and improve processes within and across scrum teams
  
  
  Skills and Experience
  
  Essential:
  
  • Passionate in AWS Cloud technologies
  • Hands-on experience to practice SOLID design principles and good understanding of domain-driven design (DDD)
  • Recognising & articulating benefits and drawbacks of different technologies, patterns and approaches.
  • Proficiency in one or more backend languages (Java / Typescript / GoLang)
  • Hands-on experience with SOA architectural style, specifically in microservices development
  • Professional experience designing and building event-driven architectures with AWS
  • Advocate of Agile methodologies (e.g. Test Driven Development and Continuous Integration)
  • Working experience in the following areas:
    • Cloud Native Application Architecture: Serverless architecture, Lambda, API Gateway, Data stores (DynamoDB, S3), Queue and Notification systems, Event Bus, Containerization and Microservices, single page applications, and modern web applications.
    • AWS Security: Compliance, Cloud Security Architecture, IAM policies/roles, encryption/KMS, Shield, WAF, Cognito etc.
    • DevOps and Infrastructure as Code: infrastructure and application automation using CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Serverless Application Model (SAM). CI/CD pipeline setup using AWS services such as CodeBuild/Commit/Deploy.
    • Hands-on AWS experience with a minimum of 1 implementation (enterprise scale environments preferably)
    • Ability to communicate effectively at senior levels within an organisation and with clients
    • Strategic thinker, ability to simplify and communicate complex concepts
    • Ability to work on a broad spectrum of tasks concurrently
    • Able to work within a virtual environment and in managing and supporting teams working in distributed locations
    • 2 - 5 years commercial experience in a similar role
    • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent discipline

    • AWS or other public clouds certification
    • Other public clouds hands-on experience
    • Fluency in several programming languages such as Python, Scala
    • Frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Redux, Vue) familiarity
    • Databases - Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
    • Search engines: ElasticSearch, Lucene
    • Tools - Docker, Jenkins
    • Test Driven Development - Spock, Cucumber, REST Assured, Jest
    • Agile development methodologies - Scrum, Kanban

AI's Financial Services Division helps banks, insurers and other major financial institutions to combat fraud, unauthorised trading and money laundering, and meets their regulatory compliance obligations.
