Hays Technology are working in partnership with a well-known charity in Telford to recruit a Cyber Security Analyst on a permanent basis.

The role will be responsible for the delivery of the organisational security solutions, through following and developing our internal processes and management of our outsourced security partners. Ensuring the organisation remains compliant with internal policies and external legislation (i.e. DPA, GDPR, PCI-DSS and ISO 27001 etc.).

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Maintain and monitor security access across all systems and infrastructure
• Perform vulnerability testing, risk analyses and security assessments
• Conduct/Coordinate internal and external security audits
• Anticipate security alerts, incidents and disaster in order to reduce their likely risk/impact to the organisation
• Protect access to systems by investigating improper access, revoking access, reporting violations and recommending improvements
• Responsible for recommending and install appropriate tools and countermeasures, such as Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) and Data Loss Protection (DLP)
• Establish and develop plans and protocols to protect digital files and information systems against unauthorized access, modification and/or destruction
• Responsible for the development of security awareness educational programs, and on-going communication
• Coordinate security plans with 3rd party supplier/providers
• Attend such academic, vocational or day release training courses whether held in-house or at specialist academic or training establishments as required
• Ownership of Anti-Virus, Anti-Malware and Web Filtering solutions. Producing regular management reports detailing protection levels and any security breaches.
• Reviewing new technologies and keep organisation at the forefront of developments and trends in IT Security
• Oversee the regular review and updating of Information Security Policies, Standards and Guidelines
• Make recommendations regarding security enhancements to Senior IT staff and Senior Management

Skill and experience required in order to apply:

• Previous experience of working within a Cyber Security role
• Knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27000 etc.)
• Understanding of PCI DSS
• Knowledge of data protection legislation
• Hold or be working towards an Information Security qualification
• In-depth technical knowledge of the following:
- Windows 10
- Office 2016/19 - 365 Administration
- Cloud Technologies (Azure / AWS)
- Network Security, Asset Management
- Windows Server 2012 / 2016
- Exchange Server 2013
- VMWare 6.0 and newer
- Linux (RedHat etc.)
- LAN, WAN & Wi-Fi technologies
• Keen, enthusiastic and a proactive attitude, with excellent problem solving skills
• A current and full driving licence
