Job Description
This role will report directly to the Head of Technology and a dotted line to the Group DPO. This person will be responsible for owning and driving an agreed Data Privacy plan and operational support activities across Pharma Intelligence. The role is also responsible for monitoring and communicating the status of data privacy compliance (across all areas including process, policy and technology) and for agreeing and driving risk mitigation plans, in accordance with levels of risk and investment agreed by Pharma Leadership (Head of Product, Technology) and in line with guidance provided by the Group DPO. This role will entail working closely with a wide number of internal teams (Product, Sales, Technology, IT, Information Security, Procurement, HR, Legal and Group Privacy) and all other relevant stakeholders to build an understanding in the Pharma Intelligence's global data protection issues and to ensure we are compliant with applicable regulations including amongst others GDPR, and HIPPA.
Qualifications
  • Strong experience as a privacy advisor for a commercial business in the pharma sector, particularly in terms of customer and patient data handling practices.
  • In depth understanding of the GDPR, E-Privacy/Marketing, the DPA 2018, CCPA and HIPAA. Other DP and Health/Pharma Sector Regulations would be an advantage.
  • Operational experience carrying out DPIAs, SARs, reviewing third party contracts and breach management.
  • Gravitas to influence employees to embed good privacy practises in their daily work.
  • Proven track record building relationships and communicating effectively with senior management, internal colleague and external data subjects.
MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
  • BA/MA
  • Relevant Data Privacy Management experience
  • CIPP-E or similar qualification
BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • 5+ years data protection and privacy experience
  • Experience supporting and driving forward privacy compliance programme
  • Expertise in national and European data protection laws and practices and an in-depth understanding of the GDPR
  • Ability to handle information and business affairs with secrecy and confidentially as appropriate
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the highest levels of management and decision-making within the organization
  • Familiarity with privacy risk assessment and best practices, privacy certifications/seals, and information security standards certifications
  • Sound understanding of and familiarity with information technology, pharma related regulations, and information security practices and audits
  • Adequate self-awareness and confidence to acknowledge knowledge gaps and seek to fill them from reliable sources
  • Knowledge of the business sector and of the employer's organization
  • Team player with a strong focus on communication and service delivery
  • Pragmatic, business orientated mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Self-starter and able to work in stand-alone position
