At, PwC, our Commercial Control team typically reports to the CFO or CPO, providing expert challenge and scrutiny over third party relationships in order to deliver improved outcomes, whether that is reduced cost or risk, or an increase in business performance. We deliver complex programmes of work using a high-performing team diverse in its experience in performing contract reviews, commercial and commercial management, deal shaping / re-shaping and negotiation.

 The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

• Delivering work-streams within a larger engagement;
• Delivering contract reviews;
• Supporting senior team members to assess projects/contracts to review the compliance, effectiveness or maturity of a client’s supplier and performance management activities;
• Reviewing commercial matters (i.e. major deals / business cases / commercial strategies) and drafting observations, recommendations and proposals to clients;
• Supporting senior team members in the formation and / or review of complex third party arrangements
• Performing supplier compliance and dispute resolution activities, to investigate value leakage or identify poor performance;

The role is primarily client facing at a senior level in often time-pressured environments; whilst there is frequent scope to innovate, recommendations must be based upon clear commercial logic and a robust understanding of the client’s unique circumstances and issues.
 Additional activities may include:

• Supporting internal presentations;
• Contributing to business development activities;
• Contributing to thought-leadership; and,
• Preparing management information.

We are looking for individuals who have previous experience of:

• Working in professional services either delivering cost reduction or contract review programmes;
• Supporting the implementation of commercial arrangements with either customer or supplier facing contracts; and
• Providing input into procurement activities and negotiation/contracting strategies.

The role will allow the right individual to progress rapidly through the firm and develop a broad set of skills and experiences that are highly valued by senior executives at our clients.
