Role summary

BAE Systems Applied Intelligence delivers technology solutions which help our clients to protect and enhance their critical assets in the connected world, and we're looking for a Global Digital Events Specialist to join our team and help take our virtual events program to the next level of success. This role sits in the Global Communications & Marketing Team and focuses on the delivery and execution of strategic & complex virtual events which drive brand awareness and growth, supporting business winning opportunities. We're looking for an ambitious, hard-working and strategic thinker with project management skills. Our ideal candidate will be a marketer with experience of digital, physical and hybrid event management, however training and development can be provided.

This role can be based from our Guildford, London or Leeds offices however may be predominantly home based with visits to the office on average a few times per month in line with our Hybrid ways of working. Occasional UK travel is required, on average once per quarter. The role is offered on a 1 year fixed term contract basis with potential for other permanent opportunities becoming available.

What you'll be doing

The key activities will include:

  • Supporting the Global Applied Intelligence Events Program:
    • Creation and ownership of event project plans
    • Utilising the current in-house virtual events platform to deliver virtual events
    • Researching, presenting & implementing future digital event strategies to help us stay differentiated
    • Work with key stakeholders to execute all events as integrated campaigns
    • Work with regional marketing teams to execute local events
    • Responsible for delivering event milestones to plan
    • Own and manage the budget for each event
    • Maximise and leverage exposure at each event (event tactics)
    • Coordination of all event materials and assets
    • Support key BAE Systems corporate events
    • Ownership of delivering best practice end-to-end events process including pre, during and post activities in relation to sponsorship negotiation, planning, management, lead capture, customer experience
    • Marketing reporting
      • Track and report on event KPIs including ROI model for each event
      • Post event evaluation, surveys and reporting
      • 3rd Party supplier and agency management
      • Endorse brand guidelines throughout all events
      • Support Marketing teams in budget benchmarking and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) budget justification
      • Manage projects from across the communications and marketing mix
      • Support the regional and central marketing functions as required


      What we're looking for

      The essential skills and experience for the role include:

      • An interest in event management including running virtual / hybrid events
      • An understanding of technologies and how we can use them to innovate future events and marketing
      • Project or programme management, and excellent organisation and attention to detail skills

      • Social media organic promotion: Knowing how to post (and delete) organic (non-paid for) content on our company social channels.
      • Linked-in (Paid): Activating agreed paid-for standard Linkedin advertising campaigns including building a target audience, setting objective and budget, uploading the ad copy and creative to put live and monitoring it in flight.
      • CMS: Able to create or update approved standard content on the company websites.
      • Analytics and reporting: Awareness and basic understanding of analytic and reporting tools such as Salesforce and Google Analytics.
