We have a contract job opportunity for an Automation Test Engineer for 3 months

Our client provides national mapping services for Great Britain and is a world-leading provider of geospatial solutions. What you will be doing
Working within an agile team, the test engineer will be responsible for designing, writing and executing test harnesses to ensure adequate and effective test coverage and provide test assurance of the user stories according to the defined acceptance test criteria. This is a technical role and requires knowledge of data testing, performance and load test. They will work closely with Software Engineers in conducting automation, exploratory and regression testing using Scala/C#/Python in a CI/CD environment. They will be working with a wide variety of techniques and technologies, such as Azure Cloud Services, Azure DevOps and Databricks.

What they are looking for
An experienced Automation Test Engineer with analytical skills that is capable of designing and implementing tests for functional and non-functional test activities. Experience of designing and implementing tests around TDD/BDD. Experience of delivering automated test frameworks in a test-first CI/CD environment. Ability to define the appropriate end to end test approach for automation and performance testing. Experience of allocating and prioritising own work. Good knowledge of agile methodologies and capable of working closely with engineers, advising on process improvement. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and customers. Proven technical skills in C# (essential) and/or Scala/Python (desirable). Qualified to Foundation Level in Software Testing (or equivalent). Experience of working with Azure DevOps is essential. Experience of testing on a cloud platform is essential. Experience of Data technologies preferable. Databricks desirable. Awareness of geospatial systems and technologies is desirable. Experience of PowerShell desirable.

Remote working and working from the client HQ in Southampton will be required as part of this contract The role has been determined as Inside IR35 and is offered on a 6 month initial contract. The day rate will be a maximum of £450 per day via an approved Umbrella company.
