My client work with renewable energy operators to provide sustainable computing infrastructure applications including ML, Blockchain, and AI by building high performance computing systems.They are taking a stand again climate change while making big moves in the computing world.

As a Network ServiceDesk Reliability Engineer, you'll be working 50% networking and 50% ServiceDesk support, monitoring thousands of devices across the globe. The role will eventually involve shift work and require you to be on-call over the weekend every 3-4 weeks.

Networking
  • Design, deliver and manage LANs & WANs for large and small offices
  • Development, and evaluation of all Network infrastructure systems
  • Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, & improvements
  • Define Network related hardware and software standards in conjunction with owners and stakeholders.
  • Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports
  • Travelling to sites (possible international) to ratify network designs/ remediate where necessary, subject to change management.


ServiceDesk
  • Providing an IT helpdesk service to customers, team members and contractors
  • Monitoring hardware and implementing improvements and fixes
  • Troubleshooting networking issues, scaling and operating microservice based software

About You

  • Experience of running an international TCP/IP network across multiple time zones
  • Network design (WAN/LAN) and documentation
  • VPN implementation and management
  • Remote management of networks, monitoring, and management toolsets
  • Customer facing soft skills with strong communication skills
  • MS Office 365 including Teams, SharePoint, Exchange & Active Directory
  • Awareness of Google analytics, BigQuery, BigTable, etc.
  • Experience of Linux such as Ubuntu, Debian, Centos etc.
  • Knowledge of tcpdump, DNS, general troubleshooting, debian apt (apt-watch, apt-get), etc.
  • Linux / Debian / Ubuntu & Bash scripting, command line and ssh
  • Knowledge/ Awareness of CI/CD & familiarity with code
  • Troubleshooting issues using metrics & logs
