A leading Independent IT Infrastructure and Services Consultancy are looking for a Network Specialist for a 6-month contract initially with a cosmetics customer based in Littlehampton, Inside IR35
To provide 2nd and 3rd line technical support for the campus LAN and global WAN.

Key Job Accountabilities
Act as a point of contact for UK and overseas customers in order to support the global network infrastructure.
Provide networking technical support to Global IT teams.
International travel may be required
Provide out of hours cover, as appropriate, for BSI’s networking infrastructure.
Act as primary day to day contact for external providers of Managed WAN Services
Day to day moves and changes on LAN including EOL hardware refresh.
2nd and 3rd line LAN/WAN troubleshooting using Cisco IOS, liaising with external suppliers as needed.
Installation of new Cisco switches and routers in support of new building locations.
Maintenance of up to date network documentation and network management systems.
Participation in the continuing development and deployment of networking infrastructure.
Maintain and improve network installation standards.
Assist in the evaluation and deployment of new networking technologies.
Development of positive ongoing relationships with key colleagues within The Body Shop and external suppliers.

Qualifications:
Must be CCNP certified with CCNP-Security / CCNP-Wireless / CCNPâ€"Voice / CCDA desirable

Competencies required:
Ability to assign and manage VLANs and port parameters.
Good working knowledge of TCP/IP and Ethernet.
Good understanding of IP address assignment and sub-netting within a global environment.
Proven understanding of routing protocols, e.g. OSPF, EIGRP as well as static routing.
Management of Access Control Lists on Cisco routers, layer 3 switches and ASA firewalls
Understanding of discontiguous masks.
Knowledge of Meraki MX, MS and MR products and SDWAN
Good working knowledge of FastEthernet, Gigabit Ethernet over fibre and copper.
Knowledge of 802.1q trunking, 802.1s , 802.1w and 802.1x.
Maintenance and upgrades of Cisco IOS and hardware.
Familiarity with Network Management Tools such as WhatsUp Gold, Solar Winds, protocol analysers, cable testers and WiFi Management systems.
A high level of personal organisation, excellent verbal and written communication skills, enthusiasm and disciplined work habits.
Must be self-motivated, able to work within a team or individually, with a desire to consolidate existing skills and acquire new ones.
Any knowledge of Teams Telephony an advantage

Experience:
At least 3 years hands-on proven experience in troubleshooting and configuring Cisco IOS based switches and routers.
Hands-on experience of structured data cabling
Proven experience in some or most of the following:
Cisco 6800/6500/3850/2960 IOS based switches, Cisco 8xx, 17xx, 28xx, 37xx routers, Cisco wireless LAN access points, Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers, Cisco ASA firewalls, Firepower IPS, IPSEC site-to-site and client VPN solutions, Cisco Unified Call Manager, Cisco Unity Connection, Citrix NetScaler and Barracuda load balancers and Meraki VPN solutions.
