Large Scottish Public Body is looking for a Lead Cyber Security Analyst to lead a small team in Scotland. The organisation is going through a restructure in their digital security and are expanding with additional team members to ensure all levels of security are met.
As Lead Cyber Security Analyst, you will be overseeing a team of 4-5, mixed from Analysts to Auditors who focus on compliance and standards. You will be dealing with a range of issues across the organisation to identify weaknesses, vulnerabilities and unusual activity to support the ongoing security processes in place, and reporting with detailed reports to Senior Stakeholders.

You will be required to have 5 years UK address history as this role does require Security Clearance.

Your Responsibilities:
As the Lead Cyber Security Analyst, you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that Cyber Incident response capabilities to the organisation are managed and maintained.
  • Use of complex ICT tools and processes to undertake proactive monitoring of Cyber Threats and associated intelligence, identify and remediate security vulnerabilities, reducing associated risk.
  • Ensuring agreed security standards, policies and procedures are adhered to in relation to ICT systems and services implemented with the organisation
  • Operation, management and development of SIEM solution and related security technologies
  • Assist with management and execution of annual Cyber Essentials+ and ITHC certification process and remediation activities
  • Management of regular audit schedule using a number of complex technical tools to identify vulnerabilities across applications, systems and infrastructure.
  • Mitigation of identified vulnerabilities to ensure the organisations security accreditation is maintained.
  • Manage internal audits, investigations, FOI and GDPR Requests.
  • Reporting of audit findings and resolution to senior stakeholders within the organisation
  • Developing Security Recommendations to senior management based on audit findings, to further enhance and improve operational delivery and security.
  • Support to the Cyber Security & Assurance Manager in development of relevant strategies and policies.

Core Skills and Essentials:

  • Degree level in a technical discipline
  • ISMS Knowledge - ISO 27001 &27002, NIS, NIST.
  • Demonstrable experience in Security Standards
  • Leadership, management, oversight, escalation and advice skills to a team of Analysts and Auditors.


  • Experience in working flexibly whilst under pressure, deliver agreed milestones
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, with the ability to influence.
  • Experiencing in leading and managing a team of staff
  • Experiencing organising and chairing meetings.

This role requires Security Clearance, you will need a minimum of 5 years UK Address history in order to be eligible for this role.
