A large public sector organisation based in Glasgow focused on growing and improving the Scottish economy. They have established a reputation as a hot bed for emerging technologies and working practices. They are currently going through a significant technological change with a real focus on the infrastructure that enables they're strategic transformation goals.

Your new role
The Security Architect plays an integral role in defining and assessing the organisations security strategy, architect and practices. The Security Architect will be required to effectively translate business objectives and risk management strategies into specific security processes enabled by security technologies and services to partner organisations that make up the shared service.

This contract is to complete the following deliverables:
  • Development of the Cyber Strategy aligned to Partnership strategies and high-level Security Designs to support the cross partners multi workstream programme.
  • Ensure designs submitted to Technical Design Authority (TDA) and Change Advisory Board (CAB)align to Security strategy and security risk tolerance

Engage through all components of the Project lifecycle. Work closely with Business users, Analysts at all levels and Suppliers to understand and establish clear Security solutions and transform these into Designs.

Understand, from a functional perspective, the core systems and technologies that sit at the heart of the IT Service. Align requirements to Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), Strategy and core technologies.


What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience of development and implementation of Cyber Security Strategies
  • Good understanding of complex scenarios with the ability to produce timely effective solutions
  • Strong influencing skills, ability to influence at all levels
  • A good understanding of IT related laws and regulations (Data Protection, Freedom of Information, Computer Misuse)
  • Can demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills with Internal and partner stakeholders as well as 3rd Party Managed Service Providers
  • Leadership skills in driving forward security strategies and architecture in line with internal and external cyber threats
  • Knowledge of, or experience in working with digital teams in a cloud first environment
  • Define and communicate technology and architecture blueprints, implementation roadmaps to achieve successful outcomes.


What you'll get in return
You will get an out-of-scope contract which is something that is becoming rarer in the market. You will also receive a day rate up to £550, depending on relevant experience. You will be joining an organisation with a fantastic culture and great attitude towards contractor, as well as a robust time sheet process which will allow the successful candidate to be paid on a by-weekly basis.
