Job description
KPMG Digital Content Manager
KPMG Overview
KPMG is part of a global network of firms that offers Audit, Tax & Pensions, Consulting, Deal Advisory and Technology services. Through the talent of over 16,000 colleagues, we bring our creativity and insight to our clients' most critical challenges.
With offices across the UK, we work with everyone from small start-ups and individuals to major multinationals, in virtually every industry imaginable. Our work is often complex, yet our vision is simple: to be the clear choice for our clients, for our people and for the communities we work in.
Job Description
As part of the Corporate Affairs function, the Internal Communications team plays a vital role in building confidence, pride and trust in the leadership and strategy of KPMG UK.
Over the past year, we have modified our operating model to achieve the above, transforming business partnering with the remit to support areas of our firm with transparent, consistent messages to help our colleagues and our firm to succeed.
It's an exciting time for Internal Communications at or firm as we bring in a new suite of channels, including a new intranet, Yammer and broadcasting capability. We're putting more focus on two-way discussion, increasing the visibility of our leaders and, most importantly, putting the spotlight on our 16,000 incredible people.
Our colleagues have amazing backgrounds, experiences, and expertise - all playing their part in running and growing KPMG UK. We want to tell their stories and in turn the story of our firm.
This is where you come in as our Digital Content Manager. As part of the Digital Content and Channels team you will support our internal communications strategy by leading our editorial approach for internal news and features, support the IC team and stakeholders as we launch new channels and ways to tell our stories, alongside developing best-in-class content told through and by our people.
Part of your role will be to find and tell these stories using your journalistic talents and creativity. How will you do this? However, you want. You might come across a single sentence in a Yammer post or a comment on our intranet that sparks an idea. You might collaborate with our Broadcast lead to shape a story into an engaging segment for our regular all-firm Broadcasts. Or you'll bring in some fantastic ideas of your own - the content is yours to shape how you see fit.
To succeed in this role you will:
  • Have a keen eye for a story and know the best way to tell it
  • Be an outstanding writer and communications aficionado with extensive editorial experience
  • Have an understanding of internal digital channels and tools; ideally SharePoint, Yammer or Poppulo
  • Be able to influence and challenge senior stakeholders constructively
  • Be passionate about great journalism and content creation for diverse audiences
  • Be curious about our industry, clients and people so you can deliver stories and in-depth opinion pieces alongside a regular drum beat of topical news provided by our Business Partners
  • Understand the importance of feedback and metrics to bring insight to our content proposition
  • Know how to get the best from others; if you haven't managed others already, you should have a desire to do so.

We're after someone who is:
  • A capable individual with a high level of emotional intelligence, able to balance the needs of long-term strategic work with fast-moving tactical work
  • Comfortable running multiple projects at once
  • Highly organised, ensuring that our channels deliver a regular flow and mix of high-quality content
  • A good, intuitive coach, able to adapt their technique and use objective feedback to enable others to stretch and develop
  • A consummate relationship-builder, creating useful networks across the business.
This role will report to the Digital Content and Channels lead within Internal Communications.
Essential skills for the role
The Digital Content Manager will:
  • Be the guardian of editorial standards and editorial compliance
  • Have experience of using a variety of forms of media for storytelling
  • Have an eye for technical detail
  • Feel confident in dealing with senior stakeholders
  • Communicate issues clearly with internal audiences
  • Understand analytics and measurement
