Your new company
Global tech firm based near Basingstoke looking for a Network Engineer to join the wider team on the operational BAU hands on side.

Your new role

We are looking for someone join us in supporting the client's network estate, helping to drive projects and owning delivery of key network components whilst supporting resolution of technical issues arising from DC and Project integration.

Some of the activities you can expect to be involved with include:

  • DC migration and consolidation - moving to hybrid cloud infrastructure; AWS, on-prem, decommissioning
  • Network Hub - building out a new Network Services hub for Europe
  • Tech refresh - replacing EoL or obsolete infrastructure; Local LAN, WiFi, Infoblox
  • Operational issues - assist support partners as and when required
  • Local projects as they arise

For the above take various roles depending on project but 'own' the EU response and ensure EU represented and ensure projects get delivered as per requirements including
  • Design
  • Delivery
  • Documentation
  • Hand over to EU Operational partners


Some travel may be required as well as flexible hours

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience (+5 years) in a commercially aware IT Networks function with a focus on successful Network design, delivery and operational support
  • In-depth knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
    • Network: Cisco routing & switching, ACI, WLAN, F5 loadbalancers
    • Security: Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Bluecoat proxies (NSX experience a plus)
    • Services: Infoblox DNS, AWS, RSA, AlgoSec
  • Ability to understand multiple Network designs, quickly getting to grips with the intricacies of DC Lan and Network hub applications (DDI, Proxies, Firewall, Routers and switches) and delivery
  • Proven experience of working with Managed Service partners and vendors to deliver successful change and troubleshoot escalated operational incidents to resolution; experience with Remedy or ServiceNow a plus
  • Ability to Travel and work independently and remotely
  • Strong documentation skills, ability to create understandable lasting Network Maps and document procedures to upgrade and design
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision with ability to extrapolate tasks, taking ownership and driving them to completion
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and business skills. Able to communicate at relevant levels
