Your new role
Please see day to day responsibilities below:

• Investigate and resolve incidents
• Liaise with software and hardware suppliers
• Plan and complete changes to software/hardware as per ITIL process
• Assess user requirements and formulate efficient technical specifications
• Install and test operating software and associated products together with application providers
• Help implementing new and modified systems alongside clients to achieve identified benefits
• Implement and maintain a standard methodology for the planning and installation of infrastructure
• Prepare and produce systems documentation
• Provide technical input to internal project teams, both within and outside own functional area
• Maintain up-to-date awareness of developments in the IT industry and identify how appropriate ones could be applied to client organisations
• Build rapport with client representatives, Service Managers and Account Development Managers in order to identify and develop new opportunities
• Undertake project management, quality assurance and leadership responsibilities for projects when required
• Mentor junior staff and help with the induction of new recruits

What you'll need to succeed

• SC Clearance
• Command of operating systems â€" Windows, RHEL and Solaris
• Knowledge of Citrix Metaframe and Xen Server
• Competent conceptual understanding of virtualisation and specific products, like VMware ESX
• Proficient in specific infrastructure support services
• Skilled in algorithms and methodologies for developing, building and configuring a system and network
• Understands Thin client architecture and structural components
• Awareness of hardware technologies (IBM, HP and Dell plus blades)
• Proficient system management skills
• Ability to structure and create technical documentation
• Capable of working to a high degree of accuracy with attention to detail
• Excellent organisational skills and able to prioritise work efficiently
• Communicates easily with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels, through different channels and face-to-face
• Advanced analytical skills to accurately define the nature of problems and overcome them
• Can conceptualise problems
• Professional working in a team
• Experience providing front line supervision and coaching staff
• Record appraising and assuring quality of the work produced by others
