A job opportunity has arisen for a Systems Engineer, with focus in Linux, to join our exclusive client in Swansea. This role is based at a highly established and rapidly expanding organisation, that offer a great working environment, scope for career progression and the opportunity to work on several interesting projects.

This role will initially be a 12-month fixed-term-contract, with the possibility to get extended or made permanent after this date. You will be able to work fully remote however would need to commute on site at least 1 day per month.

Your new role

As a Systems Engineer you will be supporting infrastructure facilities and associate storage infrastructure to specifications and standards necessary to enable international competitive research. You will also be managing Linux systems in an enterprise environment using automation tools such as Ansible and leading on the development of capacity management through the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-user and department managers. Delivering specialist user support as required by prioritising requests and responding in line with established service level agreements will also be a part of this role.

What will make you successful

• Experience working as a Systems Engineer or similar role.
• Experience and operational understanding of TCP/IP Networking, Cloud services, Web Services, Databases, Linux Servers and virtualised platforms.
• Experience in information security management and control.
• Experience of Infrastructure and Networking development.
• Project Management experience & working as part of an agile project team.
