Are you passionate about working with and analysing data on projects delivering solutions that are central to our customer's missions? Join BAE Systems as a Data Analyst!

We are recruiting for additional experienced Data Analysts to working in for a Central Government customer. The programme of work is very high profile, and is focussed on building new digital services for securing UK borders. A hybrid working pattern is in place with some regular travel to client site in Croydon.

As a Data Analyst you'll be responsible for analysing complex data sets and providing input into the development of the data requirements and solutions which will place key insights in the hands of decision makers at all levels of the organisation. You will be helping clients with cross-cutting programmes where a holistic view of the organisation is important.

You'll enjoy working as part of a team with minimal supervision and with other data analysts, data architects, engineers and business analysts to design and implement a data architecture that meets the customer's needs. You will be an excellent communicator both internally within your project, as well as to customer stakeholders to facilitate decision making and co-ordinate design activities with related teams.

Not only will you be making an impact upon the systems you work on, you'll be doing it for an organisation who makes a huge impact to the security of the UK.

About you

You will have experience in the majority of the following:

  • Excellent understanding of SQL, with hands-on experience to a high level for exploratory purposes
  • Excellent understanding of statistics
  • Experienced building data source-specific data models and mapping relevant data fields based on the needs and wants of the client
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written); the ability to convey complex analysis results clearly and with conviction to all levels of stakeholders
  • Proven ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience of designing and implementing internal process improvements
  • (Desirable) understanding and experience with the use of Python and graph queries for advanced data exploration and concept development.
  • Understanding of a data professional's involvement in testing processes
