Learning Design Manager
About the job
The Learning Design Manager will be responsible for the creation of high quality learning programmes for KPMG, whilst coaching and developing junior team members. Learning programmes will leverage technology enabled learning and the principles of social and collaborative environments, all that address the specific business needs and are suitable for a client facing workforce.
Lead consultation with Business Learning Partners, Programme Directors and key stakeholders and subject matter experts from within the business in determining learning requirements and the best solution.
- Oversee the high-level learning experience design, set the project vision and manage the team in the delivery of highly effective learning programmes to address business issues.
- Coach and develop junior instructional designers on best practice learning design principles, and lead by example.
- Provide thought leadership on innovation and the use of new tools or approaches in learning solutions.
- Act as an escalation point for any projects, as required.
- Support team management activities, such as resourcing, pipeline management, people and performance management, and recruiting
 
The Learning Design Manager has responsibility for the successful delivery of projects. This will require them to use project management skills to manage timelines and project resources. The individual will also be expected to provide coaching and help develop junior instructional designers on the team, as well as assist with a range of team management activities.
 
Stakeholder Interaction & challenges:
The Learning Design Manager will own relationships with Business Learning Partners and other key stakeholders from within the business. They are also responsible for leading consultations to determine learning requirements and the best solution so strong stakeholder management, relationship building and performance consulting skills will be critical.

Essential
- Designing highly engaging and effective learning programmes that address business issues in a client centric organisation.
- Working with subject matter experts to design effective learning programmes.
- Applying new learning technologies and leveraging technical development tools.
- Evaluating business impacts of learning.
 
Desirable
- Experience of working in Professional Services firm (or similar)
- Experience of Degree (or similar Learning Experience Platform)
 
Expertise / Technical role requirements
- Adult Learning Principles.
- Learning Design.
- Previous experience using rapid authoring tools (preferably Storyline).
- Previous experience using graphic design tools.
- Previous experience using video.
