An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a highly established organisation during a period of technical transformation. You will be working together with a larger cyber team in a dynamic environment to lead innovation within the organisation.
As Security Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the Security Team. You will lead an internal multidisciplinary team and third-party security service providers. As SOC Manager, you will ensure that the organisations threat intelligence feeds are fully exploited and utilised correctly.
The position can either be on a hybrid basis, working from the Newport office or on a remote basis with occasional travel to the office on Newport.

Responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate and manage the response to all security incidents
  • Manage key relationships with internal and external stakeholder
  • Help develop and mentor security analysts
  • Ensure that incident detection, identification and remediation is executed to a high standard
  • Take ownership of the monitoring and tracking of vulnerability remediation
  • Consult on the management and redevelopment of the internal security incident response plan
  • Monitor the risk to organisational assets and ensure compliance monitoring is in place
  • Ensure that high quality of threat intelligence is actively used to drive improvements and remediation plans.
  • Develop internal processes and provide security consultancy into other projects
  • Produce reports and presentations covering the work of the SOC Team

What you'll need to succeed:
  • Relevant BSc or MSc - SIEM certification
  • Be willing to go through security clearance
  • Deep knowledge of multiple security standards including NIST, CIS and ISO27001
  • Desired certifications: AZ-900 / AZ-500 / SC-900 / SC-200 / SC-400
  • Hands on experience of SIEM and SOC processes and procedures and cyber-attack modelling techniques
  • Strong ability to identify and record weaknesses in IT security controls, and the ability to propose improvement to cyber resilience
  • Experience leading a team and involvement in development of staff
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders at multiple levels
