Director of Data Delivery and Change
The Chief Data Officer has been in place since the end of December 2019.  This role was brought in, at Director grade, to create and embed an enterprise data strategy on behalf of KPMG.  Since December 2019, the role and remit has grown significantly, as has the team, from 1-35+, and in recognition of this, the CDO role is now an Associate Partner, as of 1st April 2022.
We are recruiting for a Director of Data Delivery and Change who will report into the Chief Data Officer. The Chief Data Office is currently managing a significant portfolio of activity, and there is now a need to join-up and manage this activity across all these programmes.  There is also the need for someone to deputise for the CDO within several of these significant transformation programmes. 
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and lead the data delivery in major transformation programmes for KPMG, including our ERP transformation
  • Be the accountable person assuring all data designs in any technology transformation
  • Embedding data governance across the firm, including implementing a data catalogue and a data quality approach. 
  • Leading on the delivery of the firms Master Data Management solution (as part of our ERP transformation)
  • Providing support and oversight to the current data remediation programme, and embedding the change required to have a robust, busines as usual approach to data storage and disposal in the future.
  • Representing the data agenda in key forums in the UK and globally. 
  • Co-owning (with the CDO) and mitigating data risks for the firm, including managing and designing controls and mechanisms. This includes the firm's Cyber response activity, ISQM1 and several Internal Audit activities.
  • Providing leadership support for the Chief Data Office, including mentoring,
  • Further shaping the CDO team strategy to embed the enterprise data strategy we have in the wider firm
  • Deputising for the Chief Data Officer, as appropriate, in key forums. Being the point of call for all Data related activities in the absence of the Chief Data Officer.
 
 
Key skills/requirements 
  • Experience of leading data change in large and complex organisations
  • Experience in embedding large-scale data programmes
  • Experience of operating at Deputy CDO level, or within the leadership team of a Chief Data Office
  • Solid technical skills within data architecture, master data management and data governance
  • Proven track record of leading teams
  • Track record of dealing with very senior stakeholders and influencing at Board level
  • Passionate about doing the right thing with data 
  • Team player with good interpersonal and communications skills 
  • Experience of working with a professional services organisation a bonus but not a requirement
