BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, Defence & Space are committed to providing outstanding skills and building lasting relationships with our clients to help them achieve outstanding success on some of their biggest and most ambitious digital projects to date. With 3-6 yrs. proven experience in user research, you will work with our Digital Experience principal consultants to become a core influencer and help define, establish and champion an evidence based, user-centred design approach across our Defence sector.

We employ UR consultants to capture, analyse and advise teams and clients on how to build digital experiences that are empathetic to user needs and drive measurable business results. They do that by carrying out the following key accountabilities / duties;

  • Working autonomously as a C02 User researcher, a self-starter, able to take ownership of UR work including the planning process

  • Work as a senior UR practitioner within a team (BAE Systems and/or client), occasionally taking on a lead role, own specific work areas and coach others when needed.

  • Lead the client engagement for specific areas of work concerning UR - maintaining and building client relationships; potentially collaborating with other research teams

  • Plan and facilitate effective workshops and translate outputs

Essential

  • The ability to understand problems to be solved and design and execute appropriate research activities to inform decision-making and facilitate action

  • The ability to include many kinds of users in appropriate research activities

  • Experience of helping teams adopt user-centred service design and delivery practices and embed them into their workflows.

  • A good understanding of the social and technological context for government services, and experience of aligning user research activities to help teams understand changing user behaviour.
