I've been engaged on a project to recruit a Senior Security Analyst for a public sector financial organisation. Your new role
The Senior Security Analyst operates within the Technology Group as part of the Security areas Risk and Consulting team, providing consulting services for technology projects and Business As Usual (BAU) change initiatives. you would be a central point of contact for assigned projects, ensuring that they are compliant with internal security policies, government guidance and relevant legal and regulatory legislation.
You would be responsible for reviewing technical designs for compliance with existing and developing security policy and recommending enhancements. You will be collaborating with technical and business resources at multiple levels, to create project specific documentation such as, security evaluations, resource estimates, risk assessments etc.
What you'll need to succeed
The right candidate will have a track record of analysis of new solutions and implementing these in a way that meets organisational security requirements. You should have the ability to communicate technical security standards to other teams and mediate in any conflicts between security policy and technical implementation challenges. Excellent prioritisation capabilities, with an aptitude for breaking down work into manageable parts, across multiple projects. Experience working with Risk Management methodologies, and practical application of risk assessment techniques, gap analysis, control identification and implementation.
you need to have awareness of changing priorities within Cloud, Hybrid and On-Premises deployments, Platform as a Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS)and Security as a Service (SecaaS) solutions and the differences between them, and operating systems (Linux, UNIX, Windows, Solaris).
Also, Awareness of network technologies (LAN/WAN/VLAN, TCP/IP, Firewalls), some exposure to application and system development (Oracle, Java, Web Service architecture) and good knowledge of standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP would be beneficial.
What you'll get in return
