My client are a membership body for members providing a policy team who work with the regulator and the government responding on legislation. On behalf of members they will work with the government and financial press as well as research publications, training and events etc.
The role as Operations Manager is managing the internal operations as well as IT vendors and taking responsibility for GDPR/legalistic issues looking at contracts and identifying watch outs
The key is good exposure to the review of contracts , to understand legal wording etc.
You will oversee daily activities across Procurement, IT, digital project management, facilities, legal and regulatory compliance. Ultimately, you’ll ensure operations run smoothly and that they are productive. You will be involved in IT/ Digital, sourcing suppliers, contract drafting, negotiation and managing suppliers through the whole procurement process.
Essential Skills
• Proven experience as Operations Manager or similar leadership role
• Familiarity with all business functions including HR, finance, supply chain and IT
• Experience with implementing IT systems
• Knowledge of data analytics and reporting
• Good with numbers and financial planning
• Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
Responsibilities
• Run tenders, evaluate bids and make recommendations, based on commercial and technical factors
• Negotiate, agree and manage contracts and relations with customers, vendors, partners and other stakeholders monitoring the quality of service provided
• Review and scrutinise legal contracts to be able to spot areas of risk
• Keep contract files and use them as reference for the future
• Conduct research to source the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
• Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities
• Develop and implement a procurement strategy
• Evaluate risk and lead quality assurance efforts
• Ensure compliance with local and international laws (e.g. GDPR, cyber security, health and safety)
• Draft strategic recommendations for how digital channels can deliver on business needs or key initiatives
• Oversee the implementation of technology solutions throughout the organization
• Represent digital in key cross-functional meetings for company initiatives
• Oversee IT managed service provider and deployment of IT hardware
