Manager - Network Financial Resilience Testing

The Role
The role is part of the Network Financial Resilience team within Global Finance, part of the Global CFO team. The team assesses levels of compliance by KPMG member firms with Global Finance reporting standards, assesses the financial risks faced by each member firm, and co-ordinates an over-arching Network Financial Resilience Testing process. This plays a vital role in ensuring global leadership is informed of key emerging issues in a timely manner.
This is a specialist role which combines two distinct sets of skills - project management of a process, and the ability to assess Financial risks in a member firm setting. The role supports the Global Network Financial Resilience team in both areas and is itself supported by a small team of support staff.
The Manager, Network Financial Resilience , will support two key aspects of the member firm Global Financial Resilience Testing process:
  • the process surrounding the Finance aspects of Global Quality & Compliance Reviews of all firms in the KPMG network.
  • the broader Global Resilience Testing process by ensuring that information made available from both Financial and non-Financial aspects of the business is provided in a timely manner, reviewed, and assessed appropriately, and subsequently compiled into management reports for global and regional leadership review and decision-making regarding member firm overall resilience.
Responsibilities
Global Quality and Compliance Reviews
Organisational Aspects:
  • Allocation of reviewer resources to specific country reviews
  • Liaise with support teams to ensure that review planning is effective
  • Supporting Director and Senior Manager in delivering reviews
  • Ensure that post review activities are fully completed, action plans issued
  • Follow up of individual member firm action plans to completion
  • Provision of status data to central monitoring
  • Participate in and provision of training for reviewers and support team
Network Resilience Testing
Organisational Aspects:
  • Maintenance of all timetables around data collection and reporting
  • Review of data received from stakeholders to assess completeness and accuracy
  • Critical thinking and analysis of information to ensure information is relevant and consistent
  • Manage summarisation process and update of reports
  • Development of ideas to continuously improve process
Financial Assessment Aspects:
  • Assist in review of member firm financial information to determine financial risk ratings for various aspects of Financial Risk while factoring in available information received as part of Global Quality and Compliance Review process
  • Draft Financial assessment commentary as Finance input to wider Network Resilience Testing process detailed above
Experience & Knowledge
  • Experience in financial and management reporting in a delivery, auditing or consultative role
  • Degree or professional designation, such as accounting, auditing, financial risk management, forensic accounting
  • Knowledge of reporting frameworks, notably IFRS
  • Experience of working in an international or diverse cross-cultural environment is essential
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both written and verbally
  • Exceptional Stakeholder management, communication, influencing and presentation skills
  • Project management and an understanding of Project lifecycles
  • Critical assessment and attention to detail
  • Adept at managing information flows and the data needs to support them
    • Data analysis skills - financial and non-financial
    • Database skills, particularly data extraction and manipulation
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Spanish or French considered advantageous although not a prerequisite
