Network Services provide and support a wide range of voice and data networking solutions/services. We are now looking for a highly motivated individual to join a multi skilled team as a Senior Network Engineer. You will form part of a busy team that supports the day to day running of the biggest Government & Public Services organisation in Europe's voice and data network and requires a suitably qualified engineering resource to maintain and develop the network in line with the business requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to work on leading edge network technologies within a highly skilled team in a challenging environment. .

What you'll need to succeed
- Awareness of ITIL best practice.
- Qualifications or continuing pursuit of, relevant vendor’s certification programme (e.g. Cisco minimum CCNA, ideally CCNP, Check Point or F5)
- Relevant graduate level qualification or equivalent and/or considerable relevant experience within Data Networking
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Ability to help define, document, enforce and follow procedures/processes.
- Ability to help define, document, enforce and follow procedures/processes.
- In depth good of Cisco routing and switching technology including MPLS, BGP, IS-IS, and EIGRP
- Demonstrable evidence of undertaking simple project work and delivering to specific time constraints
- System monitoring/reporting experience using a suitable network monitoring application ideally Solarwinds. Understanding of internet BGP/LIR installation and maintenance.
- Understanding of load-balancers/application delivery controllers, ideally F5
- Understanding of modern application-aware CheckPoint firewall technologies.
- Understanding of internet technologies, including web proxies, web servers and DNS.
- Understanding of cloud technologies ideally Office365 and Azure.
- Good understanding of configuring and supporting Cisco wireless LAN controllers at an enterprise level.
- Good understanding of the tools and techniques required to automate elements of roll-out, configuration and management of an enterprise network containing thousands of devices.
