Your new role
This is a technically oriented role, primarily understanding the needs for and of our key communications service providers. It reports to the Infrastructure Manager, providing day to day support for the communications activities driven by business and IT generated change.
You will manage the delivery of the UK segment of the global WAN project supporting customers across UK based business units. You will work with the global WAN Project Manager, Infrastructure Manager and the key suppliers against project deliverables and to ensure corrective actions are in place for any failures.
You will work with suppliers responsible for the support and provision of data services, LAN\\WAN fixed and wireless, mobile data networks including 3G & 4G. Another focus is to ensure that the impact of all project and change activity is defined sufficiently by all parties and can be accepted and supported in production.
Alongside this, you will ensure that governance is in place and adhered to protecting voice and data communications services, including project, development, change, and release. Further requirements include representing the companies technical interests in all forums responsible for delivering data and services. You must coordinate and ensure that suppliers provide sufficient service measures, including adequate monitoring and alerts which are meaningful, with clear and tested support instructions supporting them. Working to a tight and strict timescale to complete project delivery is essential in this position.
