As the Company's Network Engineer, you will work in a Global Data Center IT Department supporting the daily operation of the network and participate in project work as required by the business and client requirements. The Global Data Center is an international matrix organisation and as such you will report to the UK IT Manager and functionally to the Head of Communication/Security.

Your responsibilities
  • Managing network equipment including, routers, switches and WIFI
  • Managing DNS/DHCP/IPAM
  • Maintaining infrastructure monitoring and alerting system (incl. SIEM)
  • Maintaining security equipment including the Firewall, VPN, RADIUS and Vulnerability scanner
  • Managing VoIP telephony system
  • Providing Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
  • Providing internal technical support and offer an escalation path from support engineers on complex networking and technical issues
  • Interfacing with on-site engineers and contractors during the provisioning process of any network related services, including data cabling
  • Participating in or leading projects
  • Participating in an on-call rota for out of hours' network support
  • Any other duties relevant to the position and the running of the company. We are a small team maintaining a large infrastructure

Your Profile
  • Previous experience working in an IT Department within a Data Center would be desirable but not essential
  • Ability to display some knowledge of some or any of:
    • Routing - OSPF/BGP/CIDR/VRRP/IPv6
    • Switching - VLANS/LACP/PoE/STP
    • General - DNS/DHCP/SMTP/VPN
  • Experience in working on Windows and Linux servers is desirable
  • Flexible and not afraid of getting "hands dirty" with some of the more hands on tasks involved with building and running data centers
  • Flexibility to travel to other locations as required at short notice
  • Full driving licence valid for use in the UK with own transport
  • Undergo full security checks to BS7858:2019
