You'll be leading the way with the organisation's cyber security and operational resilience strategy, whilst being a risk-focused SME on a variety of projects.
Your new role will require you to:
- Support the execution of the organisation's risk framework
- Provide risk oversight across IT, Information Security, operational resilience and various projects
- Maintain and implement a risk aware culture across the organisation at all levels
- Based on your understanding of the contemporary threat landscape, provide oversight to and implement standards, procedures, practices and group policies to the business
- Disperse knowledge and reviews on areas of concern
- Provide board and committee level Information security and IT risk reports using MI where appropriate
- In line with organisational and industry best practice, keep the organisation's risk and information security policies progressive
- You will be a subject matter expert and provide 'go-to' support and leadership in line with the organisation's cyber strategies, risk appetite, and architectural best practices.
- Provide pragmatic risk-focused advice in line with the organisation's existing and developing risk processes to implement your strategies.
What you'll need to succeed
- A solid background in information security and risk within a management role
- The ability to translate and disperse technical knowledge to non-technical staff and the ability to influence the wider IT function in line with your initiatives and the wider organisation's risk strategy.
- A technical security background within hands-on roles would be highly beneficial
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management skills
- Practical understanding of IT risk frameworks. i.e. ISO27001 and NIST
- Relevant professional qualification(s)
