Job Title: Sustainability Manager

(Guildford / Gloucester) - We are currently operating on a hybrid working pattern and it is expected that you would be required to come into the office in line with business needs, usually no more than once a week

Job Summary

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join our Global Risk Assurance Team as the Sustainability Manager. The role of the Sustainability Manager is to act as a the principal point of contact for Sustainability across the global business, with responsibility for the design, implementation, maintainance and continuous improvement of the organisation's Sustainability agenda.

This is a role where the successful candidate will be required to both develop and practically drive the sustainability agenda, while working as part of a distributed team. Activities will reflect both the interests of Digital Intelligence, while aslo ensuring alignment to and delivery of actions supporting the BAE Systems Group sustainability agenda.

As a member of the Global Risk Assurance Team, you will need to engage with colleagues across the business, as well as potentially involvement with supporting various certification activities, such as ISO14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO50001 (Energy Management).

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Risk Assurance Team in our growing business, and it includes opportunities to travel within the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the Sustainability Strategy and Roadmap, ensuring alignment with BAE Systems Group;
  • Devise, develop and implement an appropriate suite of Sustainability Management Systems, tools and processes to include a Digital Intelligence Sustainability Policy Statement and Sustainability Management Policy; working with business stakeholders to identify and document business impacts;
  • Develop consistent and reproduceable mechanisms for measuring and tracking Sustainability performance across Digital Intelligence, in line with regulatory and client requirements, working with relevant stakeholders across Digital Intelligence to ensure production;
  • Produce, and develop, regular reporting to allow timely sharing of appropriate information and performance, aligned to our sustainability strategy and BAE Systems Group requirements;
  • Build positive working relationships across the business in both Functions and Business Units, to support and drive the Sustainability agenda;
  • Provide support and direction to business stakeholders in implementing Sustainability improvement programmes and projects including, amoungst others, carbon reduction plans;
  • Devise and deliver appropriate training and communication programmes that support business stakeholders with understanding their Sustainability related duties and responsibilities;
  • Provide a focal point and subject matter expertise for Sustainability including support to client facing projects and BAE Systems Group;
  • To assist the Head of Risk Assurance in ensuring that the Digital Intelligence Sustainability performance meets or exceeds the requirements for Sustainability performance as set out by BAE Systems Group;
  • Proactively ensure that corrective actions are actioned in a timely manner on any detected non-compliances with our Sustainability obligations;
  • Represent Digital Intelligence at relevant webinars/external events to remain current with emerging legislation in this area, government initiatives and commercial trends. Ensuring any relevant information is also disseminated out to the appropriate stakeholders; and
  • Represent Digital Intelligence at relevant internal meetings and working groups, representing Digital Intelligence's interests and to support Digital Intelligence's progress in the Sustainability agenda.
