Test Assurance/Asset Care - Hydro-mechanical Asset Care Technician

You will need to be able to demonstrate an ability in maintenance, repair and diagnosis of Mechanical, hydro-mechanical and electrical systems. Supporting planned and reactive maintenance.

Principle Accountabilities:
  • Test rig planned maintenance of electrical and mechanical/hydromechanical systems including wiring & motor checks, filter changes and lubrication of moving parts.
  • Hardware diagnosis of electrical and mechanical issues on electrical/mechanical rig systems,
  • Introduce new techniques and procedures to minimise test rig downtime and test times.
  • Understand and rectify measurement uncertainty.
  • Implement long term corrections to reduce downtime.
  • Support of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programmes.
  • Working with external contractors.
  • Using Maintenance Management system to store valuable diagnostic information for future issues.
  • Ensure the application of the appropriate techniques, such that at all levels opportunities for continuous improvement and waste elimination are identified and acted on.
Basic Qualifications Personal Characteristics
  • Time served apprenticeship or relevant qualifications in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
  • Good knowledge of electrical/mechanical components and installation.
  • Good communication and IT skills.
  • Ability to work on own (and part of team) to identify and drive departmental improvements.
  • Enthusiastic to become multi-skilled.
  • Committed to continuous improvement.
  • A team player, capable of making an impact.
  • An ambitious self starter.
  • Open to learn new skills and further training.
