WHAT TO EXPECT:

 

The role is for a subject matter expert (SME) specialising in Cyber Security legislation, regulations, technical standards and compliance.  You will join a team responsible for JLR Cyber Security processes and standards.  You will be expected to take a lead role in these areas, guiding and shape Cyber Security activities within JLR and its supply base, and ensuring workstreams remain compliant to legislation and aligned to technical best practices.  You will be an expert in legislation such as UNECE.R155, standards such as ISO21434 and 2700x, and technical best practices such as NIST, ENISA, NCSC.  You will be required to support the business in technical discussions with certification authorities, and represent the business in industry working groups.

 

 

 

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

The exact responsibilities will evolve over time, but can be expected to include topics such as the following:

 

Ensure corporate policies and procedures remain compliant with current and future Cyber Security legislation and standards. Monitor and review emerging legislation and standards at both a global and local market level, developing corporate strategies for future legislative alignment. Provide guidance and direction to Cyber Security teams, ensuring processes and products continue to be developed in line with emerging legislation and best practice. Support internal and external certification activities, audits, and cybersecurity standards reviews.  Ensure alignment of JLR technical standards to industry best practices and guidelines. Apply system thinking and engineering knowledge to support the delivery of robust processes and secure vehicle systems. Establish and deploy best technical practice and knowledge transfer via formal training as well as informal mentoring. Liaison with third parties to represent their interests in JLR policies and processes. Representation of JLR at industry working groups. Be an advocate for a cyber security as a core business priority.  

 

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

 

 

 

Essential:

 

Proven experience and in-depth understanding of Cyber Security legislation and standards including (but not limited to) UNECE.R155, ISO21434, and ISO2700x In depth understanding of security guidelines and best practices (NIST, ENISA, NCSC etc) Cyber Security policy and process development Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to confer complex technical and procedural topics in a clear and concise form, confidently presenting with senior stakeholders. A good communicator who can communicate complex ideas, and constructively assess and guide others’ work An effective team player, actively leads, develops and supports team members.  

 

Desirable:

 

Familiarity with other global regulations relating to automotive cyber security, in particular planned Chinese GB and GB/T standards Awareness of broader legislative topics, e.g. GDPR, Export Controls, standards applicable to other similar industries. Participation in industry working groups Prior experience relating to the development of safety-critical software, including knowledge of ISO26262 Expertise in requirements management and ALM systems, e.g. IBM Rational DOORS, Dassault TRM, Atlassian JIRA or similar.
