Health and Safety Manager (Workplace) - Salary of £45,000 to £50,000 for Norwich

This is the perfect opportunity for a knowledgeable Health & Safety (H&S) Manager to become our Norwich site H&S expert. We are looking for someone who has worked extensively within workplace / office environments and is confident advising on a range of H&S policies and procedures, including those focused on First Aid and Fire Safety, for corporate employees and on-site suppliers.

Aviva introduced "smart-working" in 2020 and encourage flexible working; however, the successful post-holder will need to be based a commutable distance from our Norwich offices.

A bit about the job:

You will be responsible for a range of H&S tasks for our Norwich site, including planning, and then ensuring the safe implementation of, all changes to Aviva's H&S policy and relevant procedures, as well develop and deliver H&S, colleague and supplier training, using both internal and external providers. By keeping up to date on relevant H&S legislation, you will provide expert H&S advice, both written and verbal, to Aviva colleagues daily on site, ensuring that they are working in a safe environment. You will also be the lead for building project works including M&E, refurbishment, construction, as well as be accountable for the preparation/checking of risk assessments and method statements for activities held on or off-site with colleagues, suppliers, and contractors.

Skills and experience we're looking for:
  • Extensive Health & Safety management experience within corporate office / workplace environments, like Aviva
  • Excellent understanding of H&S legislation, management of First Aid and Fire Safety regulations in the workplace
  • NEBOSH Diploma/ IOSH or equivalent qualification
  • A strong team player, good organisational skills matched with the ability to also work well independently
  • Experience of building strong and trusted stakeholder relationships, influencing and challenging at all levels
