Join us as a Senior Software Engineer in 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T) within our growing Safety Critical Software team. You will be part of a dynamic team delivering on high-profile and exciting projects across multiple safety critical industry sectors, for example: Nuclear Power, Defence and Aerospace amongst others. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to challenging important work on large and small projects with exposure to both novel and well established technologies.

The Role’s Principal Accountabilities:

  • You'll have a leading role in analysing, assessing and improving safety critical software-based systems.
  • Your first assignment may well be our major safety critical software project for the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant, which is vital to the UK’s energy and net zero strategy.
  • Your work will  specialise in consultancy, verification and testing of software and programmable hardware used in safety-critical systems.
  • You’ll be working with embedded and real-time software systems.

The skills, qualifications or experience required:

Essential Requirements -

  • Degree or Postgraduate experience, or equivalent in Computer Science or Maths, or a numerate subject, such as physics or engineering.
  • A range of experience working with embedded and real-time software systems.
  • High motivation for the role, drive to deliver and willingness to learn.
  • A commitment to our values of safety, integrity, collaboration and innovation.

Desirable Requirements -

  • A background in Computer Science theory.
  • Experience of static and formal software static analysis techniques and tools (such as MALPAS, SPARK, Polyspace, etc.).
  • Experience in development and verification of real-time, embedded control systems.
  • Experience with software-based and digital systems in safety or mission critical industries.
  • Experience of programming languages such as C, Ada and Assembler.
