Job Details

The Supply Chain team are responsible for the overall procurement of all production & non-production products & services to the Wolverhampton site.

The Supply Chain Industrial Placement Student will implement and support activities as part of the Supply Chain team to achieve optimal supply cost, quality, and delivery performance.

Reporting directly to the Commodity Manager, this role will involve the planning and management of change with a "hands on" approach.
Typical areas of involvement would be:
  • Source Change, Cost Saving & Business improvement Projects for both Production & Non-Production Commodities.
  • Attending production/project meetings to ascertain requirements
  • Support and monitor Key Performance Metrics for the Supply Chain Team
  • Develop and improve supplier performance and relationships
  • Working cross functionally with the team in resolving any issues preventing parts being booked in, including but not exclusive to import issues, paperwork issues.
  • Support cost saving initiatives and develop commodity strategy.
  • Work with suppliers through regular dialogue ensuring they have the necessary drawings, specifications, purchase orders etc. in place to support part availability.
  • Development of plans through effective lines of balances when required
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders ensuring effective communication with quality, goods in, manufacturing, project management etc.
  • Support part availability issues when required.
  • Ensure company export and license procedures are adhered to
  • Comply with Environmental, Health and Safety requirements
  • Support the use of ACE tools and methodology as part of our continuous improvement culture

Minimum Requirements:
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic with strong computer literacy
  • Versatile and flexible.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Works effectively under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate some project management experience
