Hays Technology are currently recruiting for an System Administrator to join our public sector client based in the North East. You will join a team of six analysts and report into the Head of Applications.

Your new role

As an System Administrator, you will perform technical support, configuration, and development on a wide range of applications. You will be responsible for the effective and efficient operational management of varied portfolio of IT Systems/Applications ranging from SharePoint, Accommodation, WordPress, Oracle ERP, Building Management, Citrix and Student Records Administration systems to name a few alongside Teaching and Learning Apps and Technologies.

You will collaborate with third party suppliers and internal stakeholders within an ITIL framework, and will assist in technical reviews, supplier management service delivery sessions, external audits and any other work-streams related to the role.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience supporting and developing web-based applications
  • Experience of supporting a broad range of applications within a complex technical environment
  • Experience of application support, development, configuration and integration would be ideal
  • Experience working with third party suppliers is highly advantageous
  • Stakeholder management skills are essential
  • Any experience using SQL is advantageous
  • An ITIL awareness is essential
  • ITIL qualifications desirable
  • Knowledge of networks, servers and storage is advantageous
