Purpose of the Role:

Collins ISR Systems UK is seeking a pro-active and committed Programme / Project Manager. The PM will to be responsible for the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects / programmes, applying project management skills to ensure delivery to time, cost and quality.

The role will involve overseas travel in particular to the Middle East, Far East and the US (approx. 20%).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Manage complex programmes involving teams of stakeholders where the PM does not have direct line management responsibility
  • Track project costs to meet budgets
  • Meeting contractual obligations
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to external and internal stakeholders
  • Obtain customer acceptance of project deliverables and manage and achieve excellent customer satisfaction
  • Be able to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Prepare and present progress updates to appropriate management channels on a regular basis
  • Bid management with responsible for coordinating and submitting bids/proposals to existing or prospective customers
  • Develop any appropriate follow-on work by supporting the business to develop future pipeline of work
  • Identify and adapt best practices, ensuring previous lessons learnt are adopted and new lessons are identified to benefit future projects.
Personal Qualities and Skills:
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, risk, budget, and timeline
  • At least four years project management experience
  • Experience seeing projects through the full IT project life cycle
  • Proven experience of managing customer engagement
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, tools and methodologies
  • Self-motivated individual required with excellent communication skills
  • Excellent project financial management and analytical skills
  • Be able to work within a team of experienced Programme Managers
  • Degree qualified or equivalent
  • Association of Project Management (APM) qualification or equivalent is preferable
