A public sector organisation in Hampshire are looking to recruit a IT Systems Administrator on a permanent basis, to help lead both business and technical IT Projects. Ideally they are looking for a Systems Administrator but they are open to applications from anyone who has 1st/2nd line experience and is looking to expand their technical skills to support their internal systems.

This role offers possibility of remote working and has a competitive salary reaching £40,000 for somebody with strong Systems Administration experience.

We are ideally looking for a motivated, resilient, and flexible Systems Administrator to provide day-to-day, hands on applications support. Experience is ideal in Idox Uniform, Idox EDRMs, Dude Solutions Confirm, Imperial Parking and other systems. However, if you don't yet have this, the organisation is willing to train you up.

Your new role
Working as part of a specialist application support team, this role ensures systems are maintained to the latest software version and that data is back up to agreed procedures. This role provides problem solving by liaising with the software suppliers and users, ensuring data quality, organizing user training, producing reports and testing new software releases.

The role works in collaboration with other staff, teams, and functions to drive forward the continuous development, management and administration of both on-premises and cloud applications, ensuring greater mobility of systems and service in a global context whilst maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility.

This role involves carefully balancing competing demands between technical development, Infrastructure administration, user support and solutions delivery, ensuring that demand is prioritised, and the digital experience is maintained to a high standard.

As the IT Systems Administrator your main responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
  • Provide day-to-day, hands-on applications support for Idox Uniform, Idox EDRMS, Dude Solutions Confirm, Imperial Parking and other systems.
  • Ensure systems are maintained to the latest software version and that data is back up to agreed procedures
  • Work as part of a specialist application support team delivering a quality support services to the customer base.
  • Provide problem solving by liaising with the software suppliers and users, ensuring data quality, organise user training, producing reports, planning and testing new software releases.
  • The role includes some project feasibility and co-ordination work and provide a key interface between departments, the GIS Team, digital and technical services and software suppliers.
  • Create and update documentation for applications including roadmaps, user and functionality guides, patches, upgrades and changes.
  • Manage User Acceptance Testing for upgrades, patches and changes ensuring user community are full appraised of testing requirements and deadline ensuring have documented user testing scrips, sign-off of testing and procedures by the business and application owners.
  • To have regular supplier and service reviews to determine user needs, review application roadmaps and planning and to ensure best value.
What you'll need to succeed
Our ideal candidate will have experience in IT System Administration. We are will also be happy to consider anybody with relevant experience in 2nd line IT Support. The organisation are willing to train up the right individual, but you will have experience using O365. You should have experience or exposure of researching, evaluating, and developing technologies to meet day to day technical needs and challenges, working to ensure and automate daily administration where appropriate. We are looking for somebody who can successfully troubleshoot and solve technical and user related problems, demonstrating a logical, analytical and methodical approach. If you do have experience or exposure within the further or higher educational background, this would be highly advantageous.

We are looking for a Systems Administrator with experience of providing technical administration and support to both the physical and virtual infrastructure, networks and cloud services within Microsoft Azure/365 within a medium to large enterprise organisation. You will be self-motivated, driven, and have exceptional organisational skills to manage your own time efficiently.

The post holder must have a strong ability to work under pressure whilst, remaining calm and professional to deliver high standards of service
