Job Overview

The Field Service Engineer performs a variety of duties, including but not limited to servicing, operating, maintaining, repairing and removing equipment. Conducts technical analysis of product implementations, modifications and enhancements to products in accordance with specific customer specifications. Manages technical products, services, logistics and provisioning, quantity surveying, and configurations to assigned customers. Troubleshoots technical problems and issues and recommends actions to company or customer representatives. Assesses product needs in accordance with customer specifications. Acts as local on-site representative to the customer's organization. Manages statement of work to meet customer and contract requirements.
The Field Service Engineer (FSE) will be based in the Franc e and is responsible for providing technical support of all Collins Aerospace Systems Hoist and Winch products to a portfolio of customers in France EU, Great Britain , Mid-east and other locations as required..

The primary responsibility will be to support Customers in the resolution of RTX/Collins Aerospace/Mechanical System/Goodrich Hoist and Winch systems issues impacting aircraft rescue hoist operations. Products supported will be both those originating in Anaheim , California and St Ouen France. The duties shall include troubleshooting of hoists systems/components, analyzing failure data, directing Customer repair activities, and assisting in aircraft testing. The FSE activities also include assisting customer's engineering, maintenance, quality, material, purchasing, production and training personnel in the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of RTX products by being responsive to customer's spares, repairs, warranty, and account receivable requirements and building a foundation that supports customer confidence in our products and services while representing the Customer's needs to Collins Aerospace and Collins Aerospace requirements to the Original Equipment (airframe) and hoist operations customers.

The FSE will develop product knowledge across Collins Aerospace Systems Hoist and Winch products and previous experience in one or more of these system areas is highly preferred. The successful candidate will be expected to develop more in depth product knowledge Collins / Goodrich Hoist and Winch and be a focal for providing training in the region including any necessary coordination with the relevant Business Units.

The FSE will need to skillfully use all methods of communicating with both the customer and Collins Aerospace to ensure accurate, timely and effective transfer of information and be responsible for the day-to-day office management and individual administrative obligations in a consistent and timely manner

Primary Responsibilities
  • Performs duties related to overall customer service including post-sales support. Plan and perform scheduled customer visits as required
  • Generate customer contact reports. Support sales team by notifying other divisions of customer concerns and trends
  • Responsible for maintaining quality and consistency of service by documenting and identifying trends in customer service needs. Report significant product performance issues
  • Performs on-site services for Aftermarket clients, installs new equipment and services, maintains / services and upgrades existing equipment
  • Provides instruction and education regarding products or equipment usage to customers and internal employees
  • Designs and manages product training for customers and staff
Other specific FSE functions may include:
  • Attend regular operational/reliability meetings with Customer
  • Serve as the on-site technical focal for discussions on Hoist and Winch products
  • Track, manage and drive resolution for Customer Technical Issues
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace aftermarket industry experience
  • Ability to regularly support domestic and international business travel
