Application Engagement Manager - Salary of Circa £45,000

This role will suit someone with project management experience or knowledge, with strong stakeholder management skills and a process driven mindset. As the Platform Specialist (Engagement Manager), you will lead engagement with each of our business units to support work from ideation through to delivery, ensuring we have the right capability in place at all stages in the lifecycle.

This is a 12 month secondment role covering maternity leave.

A bit about the job:

This role requires you to work closely with Platform Managers to make sure we have the right people with the right skills in place at the right time. You will ensure the right governance is in place, with data and systems (e.g. Galaxy) up to date and all financial processes managed correctly. You will also work closely with the Head of Shared Platforms to ensure our demand and capability positions are clearly understood and meet all required organisational principles.

This role will include extensive work with our Global Sourcing Partners to ensure they supply the skills we need, and that all contractual and financial governance is in place. You will be expected to flag issues, identify solutions and escalate where issues persist.

You'll need to be good at reporting, MI and communication. As well as understanding our engagement and capability positions, we need to be able to explain them. Where required you'll need to identify and lead on implementing changes to how we manage our capability - for example, we recently moved to a 90:10 offshore/onshore ratio.

Shared Platforms is part of the wider Platform Engineering team that provide IT maintenance, support, and software delivery mechanisms to ensure the Aviva business has reliable and trusted services. The Platforms area ensures controlled, reliable, and predictable delivery of operational services and change within a complex environment across multiple platforms and teams.

Skills and experience we're looking for:
  • Excellent communicator, s trong interpersonal skills, e xperience of building positive relationships with a range of stakeholders and working across multiple teams
  • Proven ability to work in a complex, fast changing, time limited environment, dealing with multiple data sources
  • The ability to analyse, identify and propose solutions, influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience working with external suppliers, particularly GSPs
  • Knowledge of capability management platforms/processes (e.g. Galaxy, Workday, GSP Work Order processes)
