Role summary
As Compliance Officer, you will work closely with the Legal Counsel and the Head of Data Privacy to carry out and improve BAE Systems Digital Intelligence's compliance initiatives which include Information Management, Anti-Bribery & Corruption, Channel Partners & Advisers and international Data Protection.
This role is based at our Guildford Head Office however can be predominantly remote with travel to the office on average one or two days per week in alignment with our Hybrid Working approach.

From Finance & Operations through Communications & Marketing, to HR and Site Operations and more, our Functions teams enable our divisions to implement ground-breaking digital transformations and crucial defence software.
As part of Functions, you will be supporting and partnering with our global business from the backline, being a strategic advisor within your specialist area, and ensuring the business runs smoothly and efficiently. We all have a role to play in defending our clients; and this is yours.

What you'll be doing
- Be a key point of contact for day to day advice and guidance on compliance queries
- Assist in auditing internal functions
- Carry out regulatory and policy driven processes including Data Protection Impact Assessments, Channel Partner due diligence, training and incident management
- Help to improve Digital Intelligence's compliance posture through proactive changes in processes
- Support the delivery of the company's obligations in various compliance regimes
What we're looking for
- Prior experience in carrying out compliance driven processes is advantageous however not essential; the most important thing is having an interest and passion in compliance and being a self-starter who is able to work autonomously
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels, including to large groups of employees e.g. to deliver training
- Intermediate to expert knowledge with MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent attention to detail
- Change management skills with experience in improving and developing processes
- Ability to solve problems creatively and systematically, use effective researching skills, and breakdown work-streams into tasks and milestones
- Experience in using document management platforms is advantageous
