We are currently looking for an experienced IT Manager to join an large international business who are looking for a Manager to oversee their entire technical estate for the UK. You will be responsible for day to day management of Infrastructure, Applications, Cyber/ Security and Communications, as well as managing a small team. The central International/ Global group have a number of transformation projects they are looking to roll out to local entities, as the IT Manager you will be responsible for all upgrades, rollouts and maintenance for the UK who are based out of Woking with a smaller office based in London (Pall Mall).

The Job
Reporting in the Planning and Operations Director the IT Manager will be responsible for the day to day management of two specialists (one applications and one infrastructure), who will take ownership for the majority of daily technical queries and support. Although this role is predominantly strategic and leadership focused (70/30) we are looking for someone who can act as an escalation point for technical issues and ensure these are resolved in line with SLAs. In addition to overseeing the technical team you will be responsible for training, development, appraisals etc for your team.

As well people management and leadership experience/ qualities, we are looking for someone who is commercially minded, with strong business acumen to advise, steer/ guide the UK business from an strategic perspective and to work alongside the wider IT Group to ensure current and future projects are aligned to the wider business.

You will take ownership for defining and obtaining management agreement for local IT Strategy and implementation of local policies and procedures, project management and represent the UK division and its requirements, to the group IT management team.

Experience Needed
We are looking for either an existing IT Manager who has managed similar sized environments - ideally within an international organisation (with the ability to tailor your approach to a diverse range of teams and cultures), or someone with team lead experience who is looking to take a step up into a more strategic role. Please note that people management experience is essential for this role as well having a broad management/ leadership background across Applications and Infrastructure.

The business are currently on-prem and considering a migration to Cloud but are looking for someone who can advise the business on appropriate solutions with relevant business plans backed up by data and ROI. You will have exceptional communication skills, able to draw on your previous experience to suggest creative solutions to the business from an local IT perspective.

The organisation have a number of projects in flight/ planned including the implementation of Workday, ERP solutions as well as infrastructure network security upgrades so experience in any of these areas would be highly desirable. As the UK entity is around 150 users we are looking for someone hands on who is willing and able to get involved in smaller tasks as needed by the IT team as well as oversee the more strategic planning and delivery.
