We are currently on the lookout for a Quality Inspector to join the team.
This role will require you to be onsite. We are a flexible working employer and welcome the opportunity to discuss flexibility requirements with our applicants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out First Article Mechanical Inspections of aerospace industry component parts and sub assemblies to the AS9102 standard
  • Finalizing First Article Inspection Reports, recording the data on MRP computer system.
  • Develop and maintain electronic file system
  • Managing and controlling equipment calibration.
  • Supporting business processes and personnel in continuous improvement activities in addition to providing information concerning product and process quality performance
  • Liaising with suppliers to resolve customer issues, promoting customer confidence and satisfaction
  • Supporting the New Product Introduction process through quality planning and implementation, liaising with internal functions and suppliers
  • Ensuring all quality data is captured and analysed against targets taking action on adverse variation to standard
  • Work with production planning and material supply functions to ensure all materials are inspected and available on time in full to support the production requirements.
  • Work with engineering teams to ensure the correct information is available in the right place at the right time.
  • Work with continuous improvement teams to support CI culture and lean manufacturing tools and techniques with in the structures business.
  • Support the Site Quality Manager in the development, implementation, administration and auditing of the quality management system.
  • Liaise with other divisions to share best practice methods and execution.
  • Liaise with inspection bodies for the implementation of Source and First Article Inspections.
  • Liaise with suppliers on resolving product and or quality system failures.
  • Any other reasonable duties
Personal Attributes:

As a Collins employee, you are expected to:
  • Have a strong quality and / or aerospace background gained within medium to high volume manufacturing
  • Competent in the use of hand held measuring (Verniers, Height Gauge, Micrometers) and reading and understanding drawing requirements including geometrical tolerances
  • Continuous Improvement and 5S Mindset
  • Able to read, understand and interpret engineering information
  • Effective communicator at all levels both verbal and written
  • Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • IT literate - Effective use of Microsoft Office software; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access
