Role description
 
Audit Technical Curriculum Manager is part of UK Learning and in particular part of the Learning Business partnering team. This role is responsible for articulating and preparing the proposals for the whole technical, regulatory and assurance audit training to the UK audit practice. In particular this role is accountable to interpret, define and oversee the deliverables for the curriculum,  under the leadership of the Learning Business Partner, with the support of the Learning Design team and learning Operations.
 
The role will be accountable for a suite of technical audit curriculum that will be deployed across Audit to build essential skills and meet functional/market needs.  The role  will interact with Quality Assurance (Needs Analysis Group in Audit), ACE (Audit Centre of Excellence) and Global expertise to ensure that the curriculum is fit for purpose and not duplicative. Audit Risk management are also a key stakeholder. An up to date inventory of all required curriculum will be held centrally by the Technical Curriculum Manager. On an annual basis, or as required through regulatory needs, the role holder will assess existing and new updates and requirements to ensure they are meeting business needs.
 
The design and therefore appropriate delivery of all technical curriculum will be done by the Design team, ensuring expertise in learning needs analysis and appropriate design and delivery mode. In compliance with ISQM 1, the role will  be responsible for  approving  appropriate developers and learning representatives for each technical curriculum. Design thinking workshops will be used to elicit the right technical content from business experts, and the role holder will help identify  those experts for input to the learning needs and design. A blended design approach will be taken, with a clear focus on defining business impact, learning outcomes, skill building and continuous improvement to Audit Quality.
 
The role will report to the Senior Learning Business Partner.
 
Responsibilities
 
•    Accountability for creation of the full UK audit technical curriculum, by grade and annual timeline. In accordance with ISQM 1 this will include approval of final training materials, approval of developers and approval of CPE hours.
•    Create the learning policies which govern the individual curriculum eligibility criteria and gain sign off from various senior stakeholders
•    Accountable for delivering and upholding the policies to ensure they are put into practice. These policies will include, but are not limited to, ISQM 1 requirements, internal policies and requirements of the new UK Learning Training Policy.
•    Manage the effective collaboration between Design experts in UK Learning and the Audit Practice to assess learning needs analysis and approve learning outcomes/skills uplift requirements. The ultimate responsibility for the effective Learning Needs analysis and learning outcomes sits wit the Senior LBP
•    Responsible for the review of final technical training materials before being uploaded to the LMS for release (in accordance with ISQM 1).
•    Work closely with Audit Risk, Resourcing and Learning Operations (who manage KLS) to ensure smooth and appropriate delivery of the learning curriculum
•    Programme facilitation - the Technical Curriculum Manager will be expected to provide facilitation/presenting assistance on the more senior technical audit programmes, and other Quality-related programmes as required.
•    Responsible for TTF for all Audit facilitators
•    Drive the learning strategy agenda, taking stakeholders on a journey towards higher quality digital learning, in collaboration with the Global working party (to be established)
•    Work with the Global Working party to define where we can continue to push content to global for
a 'Design Once, Deploy at Scale' approach
•    Support the Learning Business Partners, and stakeholders, identify and source appropriate facilitators for the technical curriculum
•    Review and validate the effectiveness of the faculty from a technical perspective in accordance with ISQM 1 requirements.
•    Accountable for the accreditation and technical training of identified facilitators and ensure Learning Operations are monitoring and tracking their commitments to Learning facilitation in accordance with ISQM 1 requirements.
•    Accountable for monitoring, evaluation and quality of Audit's technical facilitator pool in accordance with ISQM 1 requirements.
•    Be accountable for the review and enhancement of the technical curriculum effectiveness to ensure business objectives are being met. This will include monitoring and reviewing feedback from delegates and results of mandatory training assessments.
•    Responsible for maintaining the audit learning dashboard

Experience and Background
 
Extensive project management skills with ability to manage multiple work-streams concurrently and manage the demands of multiple stakeholders with often limited resources
Experience in working on audits in a Professional Services firm and/or with DPP audit support. Facilitation/presenting on audit programmes or other learning courses
Qualifications and experience Relevant accountancy qualifications Project and Programme Management
