Job Title: Project Engineering Manager (PEM) Graduate Development Programme (GDP)

Start Date: August/September 2023 (there may be an opportunity to start earlier depending on role requirements)

Salary: £29,500 + £3,000 joining bonus + twice yearly pay reviews in 1st 2 years while completing the Graduate Development Programme.

Location(s): Harlow, Essex, Hybrid with up to 3 days on site per week on average

Travel: Graduates will be invited to UK events for GDP and there may be travel for the role as required by the business

Security Clearance Required: Successful candidates will be required to complete an SC clearance application

Summary of Role:
This role offers the candidate the opportunity to join the Weapons and Sensors team as a Graduate PEM (Project Engineering Manager) , supporting a wide range of programmes, including R&D studies.

The graduate PEM will experience various projects across the product development lifecycle, from bids, project planning and start-up through to execution and close out activities, while managing the schedule, scope, risk, and budget to ensure successful outcomes.

The role will be hybrid based, primarily based at Raytheon's Harlow facility and the successful candidate will have access to professional development opportunities and be part of the growing Raytheon Technologies team, where the candidate will be required to undertake development studies and investigation activities involving product performance and interfacing with various internal and customer platforms.

The role will involve working together within a highly technical engineering group as well as interfacing with several other functions (Finance, supply chain, etc.) as part of an integrated product Team (IPT) giving the opportunity to several facets of development projects. Taking on complex challenges and producing a solution that follows solid engineering methodology in a timely manner is an essential part of the role. A successful candidate will be comfortable integrating into a large team to accomplish their goals.

The successful candidate can also further progress their career through a mixture of training and experience to develop the correct tools and skillsets required to achieve a successful career within the business.

Main Duties:

• Engineering co-ordination of a multi-disciplined team's activities in product development.
• Generation and Execution of the Engineering development plans against Raytheon's standards and aligned to the overall Programme's needs from early bid phase through to final delivery
• Work package management including planning, tracking and reporting of key performance indicators for the work to be performed, working collaboratively with the Programme Manager and rest of the IPT
• External point of contact and liaison for key internal and external customer organisations, including regular reporting of status using agreed methods and measures

• Close liaison with Design Authority to ensure technical integrity of programmes
• Management cost adherence to the programme budgets, using 'earned value' techniques.
• Risk & Issue Management for engineering deliverables, including effective mitigations and monitoring to closure.

What is the Graduate Development Programme (GDP)?

The Graduate Development Programme (GDP) is a structured training programme our class of graduates on the GDP complete over the course of 2 years in addition to their main role. We work in collaboration with an external supplier, HR and functional experts to deliver a range of training from improving business skills e.g. managing projects, business strategy, company presentation skills etc to team building activities, attending events and developing professional networking skills.

• 2:2 or above Engineering or relevant undergraduate degree (including project management modules)
• 120 UCAS points or equivalent (pre university qualifications)
• Have excellent communication skills; written and verbal
• Be methodical, logical, hardworking, and enthusiastic
