Navigation Algorithm Design Engineer

Summary of Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Navigation Algorithm Design Engineer to join the Raytheon UK Weapons & Sensors business area, supporting the development and growth of a portfolio of Raytheon UK products. This role will report into the Assured Position Navigation and Timing (APNT) Lead, with responsibility to develop algorithms for new sensors and technologies across a range of applications.

Main Duties

The role includes:
  • Developing and growing the Raytheon UK understanding and capability in the Guidance, Navigation & Control discipline.
  • Work with the USA and UK customers to develop new navigation solutions for existing and future Raytheon Products.
  • Work with international colleagues to create a local capability within Raytheon UK.
  • Flexibility as to location - opportunity for home-working
Candidate Requirements

Essential
  • Relevant experience with applicable algorithms (Guidance & Control, Navigation, Data Fusion etc...)
  • Relevant experience with the Matlab toolset.
  • A degree or similar level of qualification in a STEM subject with a strong mathematical background
  • Capable of working with a small team, and growing the capability
  • Flexibility to travel for work.
Desirable
  • Experience of working in the Defence Industry will be an advantage.
  • Experience of working with navigation systems will be an advantage.
  • Experience of working with the Simulink Toolset will be an advantage.
